I just posted this over at Joel Comm’s Adsense Chat.com.
Which Is Better: A few sites or many sites or Both/And?
It seems that there are two strategies for VRE, I’m sure there are more. They are: a few well contented sites or many sites also with good content. The latter often in the hundreds.
I find that most “gurus†keep this information close to their chest. I read recently that Pat Lovell says he has “a network of over 700 content websites geared towards contextual advertising and affiliate sales.†I know that Pat creates sites so I couldn’t tell if he meant he personally has 700 sites in his person stable or if he has 700 sites for sale.
I heard Armand Morin say that his company put up a minimum of one adsense site a day. He implied that he had been doing so for a while, so that would most likely rand in the hundreds.
At a net marketing conference, I ask Dr. Mike how many adsense sites he had and he told me he thought he had around 400 sites. At the same conference I asked Michael Cheney, the Adsense Video guy how many sites he had. He would not divulge just how many but he implied that he only had a few well contented sites.
I have looked into Joel’s VRE and of course found his major sites and a few minor sites but no count. It seems to me, however, that he might lean to the “many†sites arena because his Instant Adsense Templates and his coming Monthly Templates have produced hundreds of niche templates, leading me to believe that many niche templates could be appropriate.
So, chime in. Which is a correct strategy: few or many or both. I would love to hear what you folks think and if you want to share numbers, that would be cool.
